2010 Regional Visitors Guide Now Available

Release Date: Jun 03, 2010

Harrisburg, PA (June 3, 2010) – The Hershey Harrisburg Regional Visitors Bureau’s 2010 edition of their annual Hershey Harrisburg Regional Visitors Guide is once again available in print and online versions.

In addition to highlighting the wide variety of unique places to stay and eat, shop and relax throughout the region, the guide also serves as a valuable resource for those planning their vacation to find events, deals, packages, and trip ideas.

This year’s guide features photos submitted in 2009 by local residents and visitors for the bureau’s “Snapshot Hotshot” photo contest. The winning photo of Hershey at night, taken by Mike Munchel from Camp Hill, PA., earned him a Grand Prize Golf & Spa Retreat at Felicita Garden Resort & Spa and a place on the guide cover.

This year, the “Friends & Family In Focus” photo contest is asking visitors to submit their favorite vacation photos and fondest memories from a recent vacation with family and friends in the Hershey Harrisburg Region. Those selected will be featured in the 2011 visitors guide and become eligible to win a Grand Prize Vacation Package. Email submissions to photos@HersheyHarrisburg.org.

The 2010 publication also includes new “Trip Tips” offering inside perspective on those must-see and do attractions and activities in the region along with personal favorites from the locals.

“This guide and our Web site are the two most important travel planning tools we produce,” said Mary Smith, President of the Hershey Harrisburg Regional Visitors Bureau. “We distribute over 350,000 copies annually in addition to thousands of travel consumers accessing the virtual guide on our Web site. When used together, the guide and Web site provide visitors with the perfect mix of detailed information and stunning images to plan their vacation here.”

The bureau distributes guides via direct consumer requests; Pennsylvania information centers and rest stops; consumer and business tradeshows; and in welcome bags for tour groups, meetings, conventions, and youth and amateur sporting events.
